LECTURE 1: INTRODUCTION

This week, we began our class with a brief and introduction of this module. Mr.Martin explained about what are we going to do and create on this semester. And I'm so excited about this module.
LECTURE 2: STORYTELLING IN FILM
24/02/2020 (Week 2)
This week we learn about 4 things :
Narrative
The narrative is a chain of events in cause-effect relationship occurring in time and space. or other meaning can be a spoken or written account of connected events; a story. And in this class, we learn about how to make a narrative to create a good story. The narrative must make sense to connect the story or else the audience will be confused about what are we going to convey.
Story
Is the set of all the events in a narrative, both the ones explicitly presented and those the viewer infers, constitutes the story. Basically, story form when the narrative has formed.
Plot
The plot is everything visibly and audibly present in the film, and material that is extraneous to the story world. I like to watch a movie with a plot twist, and usually, a plot will appear at the end of a movie that will make the audiences realize and can make the viewer's mind blown away.
Plot Segmentation
Is the best method for understanding a film's narrative system. To create a plot segmentation we must see scene by scene outline of the entire film.

LECTURE 4: STORYTELLING IN FILM (part B)
08/05/2020 (Week 4)
We do re-cap first at the beginning of the class, recap about narrative, story, plot and plot segmentation. And we discuss Toy Story 1 movie together and learn a new thing that is called ' 3-Act story structure' and it's divided into 3 classifications:
1. Beginning (Act 1) -> Introduction of the story
2. Middle (Act 2) -> Confrontation of a problem
3. End (Act 3) -> Resolution of problems
EXERCISES
So, for this week Mr.Martin told us to :
1. Install Premiere Pro, Audition & After Effect
2. Select Zach King Trick/video for project 2
3. Post 3 favourite stop motion videos on the blog
4. Choose not more than 3 PSA topics for Final Project
5. Order tripod

This week we start to do editing in Premiere pro and Mr.Martin give us a task to practice editing.
The next task is to make our Plot Segmentation for project 2 'Zach King Video' and here is my idea :
Story: Tabita just remember that today is her parents anniversary, so she thinks a quick idea to surprise her parent together with her siblings, so they work together to make this surprise quick and perfect with magic tricks.
- T is relaxing in the living room with 2 younger siblings
- Suddenly, T remembered that today was their parents' anniversary and she quickly thought of a surprise plan and shared a task with her younger siblings because her parents would be home in 3 minutes
- Her younger brother is in charge of preparing cake (crack an egg, pour sugar & flour into a bowl then he close it with another bowl then when he open magically become a cake, then he throw a rubric and that rubric transform into colourful chocolate for the cake decoration)
- T is in charge if preparing drinks & food (First she pour a cup of water and magically transform into ice, and she pours wine from her phone, and for the food, she searches food in google and pretends like she takes a picture on the table and suddenly the food appear)
- Her younger sister is tasked with finding gifts (Flower & box gift) (Search for flower & box gift picture on a laptop screen and take it out from the screen)
- And suddenly the house bell rang and they quickly snap their finger so their cloth changes colour into the same colour and surprise their parent.
This week is a public holiday but we got an assignment from Mr.Martin and that task is to do more editing exercise. And this time, we have to edit from footage that our seniors have taken before. And this exercise is from the short movie ' Lalin '. Here are the processes.
And Lalin exercises trim into 50 seconds.

Week 4
Week 4
This week, we learn again more about the story in the film, plot, etc. And the task still editing. Trim the Lalin exercise to 50 seconds and there's another 'Emo Soap' exercise. I was a little bit disappointed because I had made my Lalin exercise so extra but suddenly Mr.Martin told us to trim it into 50 seconds.
